There’s a new villain in Paris, and it starts with Genevieve.
If you’ve binge-watched ‘Emily in Paris’ season 4 (like us), then you must be wondering about the newcomer of the guilty-pleasure series. Introducing Genevieve, who makes her debut in the Netflix series as Laurent’s daughter and Sylvie’s stepdaughter. Played by Thalia Besson, the character moves to Paris from New York, just like Emily, to kick-start her career in a new city.
Part two begins with a twist as we explore the intricate relationship between Emily and Gabriel. With unexpected twists and turns, it appears that more drama has entered Emily’s life. Genevieve comes into the picture, and Sylvie hires her stepdaughter at Agence Grateau. However, things take a turn for the worse when there is a hidden agenda behind those devilish bangs.
As we all know, it’s clear that Genevieve is willing to take over Emily’s job – or, in this case, life.
Get to know Thalia Besson
The 23-year-old was born to director Luc Besson and producer Virginie Besson-Silla. Luc Besson is known for directing films like ‘Lucy’, ‘Subway’, and ‘La Femme Nikita’. Meanwhile, her mother, Virginie Besson-Silla, has made her mark in French films and notably produced the Oscar-winning movie ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’.
Following her parent’s footsteps
In addition to her acting career, Besson has also directed two films. According to her Instagram post from July 2024, the rising star wrapped her second film. However, there is currently no news on what the film entails. We’ll have to find out soon enough.
Based on her IMDB page, she has completed three movies, two of which are in post-production: ‘For Elara’, ‘When I’m Ready’, and ‘Triton’.
However, the actress previously starred in ‘Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets’ (2017), ‘Arthur, malédiction’ (2022), and ‘Dangerous Waters’ (2023).
