A glimpse of fashion

For the uninitiated, Paris Fashion Week looks like one big party for stylish mavens. From designers filling up their front rows with bold characters to a runway show brimmed with beautiful textures, silhouettes and dynamics, there’s no shortage of fun during this fashion season. But, what is it really like to traipse across the city, getting glammed up and attending runway shows and after-hours soirées and beyond? 

We recently chatted with sweetheart and fashion darling, Ameera Khan about the behind-the-scenes of her days at Paris Fashion Week, specifically her moments with Dior—what she’s memorialising in her fashion diaries and her mind forever.

How does it feel to walk into a Dior show at Paris Fashion Week?

I feel incredibly proud and grateful to have witnessed yet another beautiful Dior show. It’s always surreal and it still feels like a pinch-me moment—I think it will forever feel this way. 

Can you tell us about the look you wore for the Dior show? Did it have a special meaning or inspiration behind it?

I loved my look for the show because it was completely different from what I’m used to. I usually gravitate toward princessy and feminine looks, but this time, the vibe was much stronger, almost heroic, which I loved. There were so many standout pieces, from the gorgeous cape to the little skirt, but if I had to pick a favourite, it would be the armour-like corset. It reminded me of strength and courage, which are the two biggest things I’ve learned so far this year. 

What was the most memorable moment of the show for you—from the designs on the runway to the overall atmosphere?

The show felt deeply emotional because it marked Maria Grazia’s last collection and seeing her final creations come to life on the runway made the moment even more special. The set design was absolutely stunning, and I loved how it kept evolving throughout the show. It made the experience so much more special and truly unforgettable.

The Dior show always draws in the biggest names in fashion. Did you get the chance to meet or chat with any designers, celebrities, or fellow influencers? Who were you most excited to see there?

I was just excited to be there. Being seated among so many inspiring individuals reminded me of how lucky I am to be part of moments like this. More than anything, I just wanted to appreciate the energy of the show and the incredible people around me.

Paris is such a magical setting for fashion week. Do you have any personal rituals or favourite spots in the city when you’re there for events like this?

To be completely honest, my favourite spot during events like this is my bed. Fashion Week is so fast-paced and hectic, so whenever I get a moment to myself, I take it. It’s so important to me to recharge amidst all the chaos.  

What about Dior resonates with you?

Dior has always embodied a balance of strength and softness, regal yet feminine, which are qualities I resonate with. It’s a brand I grew up admiring, and now having the opportunity to be part of that world with Dior feels like a dream come true.
