This time, our journey took us to the heart of Kuala Lumpur, specifically to the lush greenery of Janda Baik, thanks to Volvo and the #MyVolvoVibe escapade. Only this time, I wasn’t alone; I was accompanied by none other than former artistic gymnast Farah Ann.
From curating the perfect playlist to ensuring our vehicle is just as ready as we are, thoughtful planning sets the stage. And for our journey, the Volvo EX30 comes to mind. Kickstarting our day strong was attempting the Volvo 101 car challenge, where we pushed our skills to the limit with the Zero to Hundred Reaction, Text While Slalom, Don’t Hit The Moose, and Lane Change (Don’t Hit Luigi). From accelerating full throttle from 0 to 100 to focusing on our quick reflexes to avoid a stuffed animal moose on the road and swerving to make a lane change at the last minute, this shed new light on everything we needed to know about Volvo’s safety features. Especially with the assistance of the collision avoidance system, driver alert system and blind spot information system (BLIS) to help achieve these challenges.
Thanks to its balanced proportions and Scandinavian minimalism, the EX30 left a lasting impression. Just like any road trip, we had to ensure that everything was locked and loaded. With the 12.3-inch central display, this trusty tablet is your constant companion for navigating, exploring your controls, and Google built-in features, and uncovering active driving support features like the Pilot Assist. Additionally, with a wireless phone charger, four USB-C ports and a power outlet, your adventures are powered at any time, anywhere.
Driving up to Janda Baik was a scenic route, especially when the final destination is just as sweet as the coffee and sweet bites we’re about to indulge in. Using the Google Assistant, we asked, “Hey Google,” for the best coffee spots nearby—a moment of serenity to refresh and unwind. And of course, bopping our heads and singing our hearts out to our favourite tunes on the Harman Kardon Premium Sound delivers an immersive listening experience that radiates through every corner. And in terms of comfort, whether driving or in the passenger seat, the ergonomic seats provide support and safety, helping reduce pressure and shoulder strain—perfect for any long-haul drives.
Approaching Tiarasa Escapes Glamping Resort, the Volvo EX30 proved to be an exceptional companion, seamlessly blending style and functionality while keeping us safe and connected. As we unwind, recharged, and bond over delicious food, fireside chats, and a collection of moments that bring joy, laughter and unforgettable experiences. The winding roads, the stunning landscapes, and the shared stories with Farah Ann made every mile in the Volvo EX30 worthwhile.
