For Malaysian fashion designers, there is so much to draw from when it comes to building a festive collection. From traditional silhouettes to heritage fabrics, inspiration is all around them in this cultural melting pot. Throughout the years, local designers have started putting their own twist on tradition; there have been interpretations embracing minimalism, elaborate extravagance, as well as borrowed elements from neighbouring Southeast Asian countries. However, at the heart of every collection is a deep sense of celebration and togetherness. This year is no different as Malaysian fashion designers proudly present their unique Raya 2026 creations.

Take a look at the best Raya 2026 collections by Malaysian designers below.

“This marks my first foray into ready-to-wear, reimagining cultural heritage through a contemporary lens,” remarks emerging designer Uzair Shoid, who burst onto the scene with bespoke creations at Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week in 2023. His first festive collection “blends traditional Malay silhouettes with modern design language”, featuring a joyful colour palette, youthful floral prints and high-contrast, layered silhouettes.

A common thread holds Innai&Co’s bespoke and ready-to-wear Raya collections together: intricate details. For the former, meticulous embroidery and crystal beadwork find its way onto signature silhouettes. There are touches of modernity in careful lace placements, which create a distinctive chevron pattern. This is further explored in the Everglow ready-to-wear collection, which features similarly elaborate details in a more casual, everyday setting.

Alia Bastamam leans into her roots as the ruler of resort fashion in Malaysia. Her bespoke collection, Nocturne, is about “confidence without performance”. What does that look like? It manifests in restrained drama imbued to flowing silhouettes with masterful ombré effects, rope-twisted trims, and sculptural corsets. The veteran fashion designer’s ready-to-wear collection, Mirage, furthers the study into quietly confident women, looking to capture the essence of Japanese design language and Nusantara heritage.

In the spirit of the fast-approaching Kongsi Raya, the overlapping of Lunar New Year and Eid, Malaysian designer Zaimi Zulkafli’s Lebaran 2026 collection marries traditional elements from different cultures. This harmony is represented on dual-coloured ensembles. Chinese knot clasps and calligraphy-inspired floral patterns find their way onto traditional kurung and kebaya silhouettes. “This is not just your regular Eid collection,” writes the designer. “I’m proud to be Malaysian, [celebrating] its rhythm and courage to breathe in a unique world of its own.”

ANAABU’s Eid 2026 collection, Isi-Isi, is a love letter to Malaysian’s favourite foods during the festive season. The textures of the banana leaf, laid flat to serve food or folded into neatly into traditional ketupat, are recreated. The silhouettes are inspired by the hollowed bamboo used to cook lemang, a dish made from glutinous rice and coconut milk. Even the pulled, buttery layers of roti canai feature as subtle stripes on garments.
