How To Experience A Romantic Escape at Hilton Kuala Lumpur

An unparalleled escape in the city.

Couples often find themselves caught up in the bustle of busy schedules. While it can be easy to lose sight of the importance of connection, sometimes the perfect solution is to indulge in the comforts of one’s own city. A staycation offers the ideal opportunity to reconnect without the stress of travel. Whether it’s by exploring gastronomic delights or surprising one another with a spa date at the hotel, it’s a call to reconnect and indulge in having “no plans”.

Our destination of choice? The Hilton Kuala Lumpur. Nestled in the vibrant KL Sentral, the establishment stands tall with 35 floors and 512 elegantly designed rooms and suites. A sanctuary for both leisure and business travellers, the hotel is recognised as the top meeting hotel in APAC. In fact, it makes travelling a seamless experience. Especially when it’s just a 28-minute journey to the Kuala Lumpur International Airport via the KLIA Express KL Sentral. Plus, it’s just a five LRT stop to the Petronas Twin Towers and a four-minute walk to the nearest Nu Sentral Mall—perfect for travellers who are visiting the city for the first time.

While guests can enjoy the finest culinary experiences—nine award-winning dining outlets that range from their all-day buffet at Vasco’s to the exquisite Cantonese flavours of Chynna —every restaurant deserves to be explored. For those who are in the mood for relaxation, the hotel’s outdoor pool with a waterslide, full-service spa and state-of-the-art fitness centre are the ideal hubs for downtime and indulgence in the heart of the city.

Whether you’re looking for a sweet escape or a way to surprise your loved one, the Hilton Kuala Lumpur is a prime destination for couples. Or, as we’d like to call it, a destination for a romantic getaway.

Book a stay at the King Executive

Specially made for a party of two, the King Executive room evokes a sense of comfort and modern luxury as you step in. With a generous space ranging from 38 to 33 square meters, the room offers a separation between the living room and the bedroom—a perfect way to unwind after a day of exploration.

Relaxation is at the core of this thoughtfully designed sanctuary, where the king-sized Hilton Serenity bed takes the term rest to another level. The bed is adorned with high-thread-count linens and pillows that promise a restful slumber. Perfect for couples, the his-and-hers bathroom features marble-clad walls, a backlit vanity mirror, and bathrobes for sheer bliss. It also boasts a stylish work desk and a chaise lounge for downtime. As a cherry on top, guests also gain exclusive access to the Executive Lounge, where complimentary breakfast, drinks and snacks are served throughout the day.

Don’t skip breakfast at Vasco’s

It’s like they always say. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Their all-day dining restaurant is the ultimate destination for a gastronomic experience. Here is where you can indulge in local specialities and international cuisines. Classic breakfast staples such as nasi lemak, roti sarang burung, English breakfast, baked goods, and more. On our radar is their Indian cuisine. You can order a delicious plate of dosa with a filling of your choice. Another hit is their hearty bowl of curry laksa. With a diverse range of selections and a vegan corner, Vasco’s caters to every personality with a hearty appetite.

Unwind at the Spa

Nothing beats the feeling of experiencing a deep liberation after a bustling week. The Spa offers everything from traditional massages to a manual lymphatic drainage, but what’s worth opting for is the Deep Therapy. With a focus on deep relaxation, the massage boosts circulation and releases knots and blockages—perfect for those long hours spent working at the desk or at home. Call it a sweet escape, but it’s where you can press pause, whether you opt for the 60-minute or 90-minute ritual. You’ll walk out feeling like you’re floating on a cloud.

Lounge by the pool

Cooling off in the heat is an unparalleled experience when it’s done right. The perfect recipe for relaxation and amusement, the pool makes a great escape from the stress of it all. With its impressive waterslide and jacuzzi, you can enjoy the best of both worlds to ease any tension as you take in the atmosphere around you. To top it all off, the Boardwalk Poolside restaurant lets you savour delicious bites without leaving your sun-soaked spot. Fresh coconuts and pepperoni pizza? Yes, please.

Dining experiences that are worth exploring

At Hilton Kuala Lumpur, dining is redefined as an experience to savour. Here, gastronomic delights take centre stage, offering a seductive array of flavours that span the globe. Spoiled with breathtaking views, modern interiors and an ambience that breathes style, each restaurant offers a setting for every food enthusiast to celebrate the art of dining.

Chambers Grill

As the sun sets and the city lights begin to twinkle, nothing beats the feeling of treating your loved one to an unforgettable date night. At Chambers Grill, the restaurant offers a wide selection of imported meats from around the world, along with premium seafood options. This classic culinary experience transforms an ordinary evening into a celebration of flavours and romance. Case in point? Their Chamber’s Signature Black Angus Tomahawk 21 Days Butter Aged was an out-of-this-world experience. With its impressive size and striking presentation, the tomahawk steak commanded the room when it arrived at the table. Each bite was a balance of tenderness and richness, which was beautifully enhanced by the buttery seasoning.

What else can I order: Smoked Salmon Carpaccio, Surf & Turf Tartare and Chargrilled Octopus.

End the meal with…. A Madagascar Chocolate Tart that complements well with a Tiramisu Coffee Ice Cream.

Chynna

A culinary masterpiece is how we’d describe Chynna. A blend of modern Cantonese and Shanghainese flavours, the restaurant boasts an enchanting open dim sum kitchen (available during lunch) and dishes brimming with a symphony of flavours that dances on your palate. The icing on the cake was the skilled tea master who gave a performance before pouring your tea—a wholesome way to start off your meals. While every bite leaves a mark in our hearts, you can guarantee that you’ll be leaving wanting more. Signature highlights include the Peking-style Roasted London Duck and Buttermilk Prawn with Chilli and Curry Leaves.

Graze

Another highlight was a visit to Graze. A destination for the finest Italian cuisine in the city, Graze draws inspiration from traditional dishes from Southern Italy. In fact, Chef Nicola Affatati whips up a memorable meal from his hometown in Puglia. Flavourful yet wholesome, every bite was a slice of heaven—a must try if your palate craves Italy’s diverse cuisine. A highlight includes the Atlantic Cod served with Pumpkin and Grilled Romaine Lettuce. Another win would be the Ravioli di Manzo (with handmade beef short rib ravioli and served with Rosso Gargano Tomatoes and Pecorino Cheese sauce).

What else can I order: The Burrata di Puglia and the Cavatelli Frutti di Mare.

End the meal with… Tiramisu

Iketeru

Iketeru is where the art of Japanese cuisine reaches its peak under the guidance of Chef Tokuhisa Naotaka. Featuring dishes and ingredients that are flown from Japan itself, here is where quality and innovation take priority. While you’re there, don’t skip on ordering the Tsuki Sashimi (platter of five kinds), Maguro Senbei (Tuna Tartar and Avocado on Crisp Sushi Rice topped with Caviar and Spicy Teriyaki sauce) and Gindara Giyoza (Japanese-style Snow Fish dumpling). As for mains, the Teppanyaki Seafood Platter comes with an assortment of scallops, prawns and halibut)—all grilled to perfection. Ideal for sharing, these dishes make a mouth-watering curation, whether it’s a romantic lunch or dinner for two.

What else can I order: Awabi Kamameshi (Abalone Hot Pot Rice with Sea Urchin and Kinome)

End the meal with… a serving of green tea ice cream
