Natalie Portman Uses This Cleanser That’s Sold Every Five Seconds

Stop press: Natalie Portman just revealed her beauty routine in an interview with our sister title, Harper’s Bazaar US. While she calls it “basic” (in the word’s true meaning, not the Pumpkin Spice Latte labelled #basicness mocked on social media), her streamlined regime includes some oh-so-chic products. It reads like a list of French fancies, from pharmacy finds to luxury fragrances – she is one of Dior’s most iconic spokespeople, after all.

To start with she washes her hair with products by Christophe Robin, the renowned Parisian colourist. “If I wash my hair, I use Christophe Robin Rose Shampoo and Conditioner” she says. “It’s like a dream—they make my shower really wonderful”. Portman adds that her hair is naturally curly, “so I’ll pull it back in a bun or a ponytail or just let it be natural.” There’s that effortless elegance we come to expect from her.

While she’s a SPF-and-tinted-moisturiser kind of girl when off-duty, Portman does wear her “Dior concealer, mascara, and Grège lipstick, which is a good nude, or a bold red” for a meeting. And she’d never have an evening out sans her signature scent – “my Miss Dior perfume“.

Skincare-wise she reveals “I always take off my make-up before bed”, by double cleansing. “I use Bioderma make-up remover“, she says, referring to the iconic £8 micellar water that was the first of its kind on the market and is now sold once every five seconds worldwide. The actress then uses a cleansing wash by Joëlle Ciocco, the cult facialist of Paris, and follows that with “a rose oil or a moisturising mask that I got from a French pharmacy”.

She does show the UK some love too, adding: “There’s a British brand I like called Pai that has a great eye cream”, referring to the excellent Echium and Argan Gentle Eye Cream by the efficacious skincare line designed for sensitive skin.

We’ll see you at the checkouts.
