Despite the pandemic, 2021 is proving to be one great year for DJ Peggy Gou. Firstly, she celebrated her big 30th birthday with a week-long celebration in Ibiza, Spain in July. That was then followed by a music video premiere event in Berlin, Germany, where she’s based in, for her track, I Go. Not one to slow down, the South Korean multi-hyphenate – she’s a DJ, record producer and fashion designer – also went from playing sets in Switzerland, to performing at her own curated event, Peggy Gou Presents the Pleasure Gardens in London, and playing music at the massive Karrusel Festival 2021 in Denmark.
Her inspiring energy and determination, as evident here, are the reasons why she was announced as one of the new faces of Montblanc’s campaign, ‘What Moves You, Makes You’. Peggy joins a distinguished lineup of individuals known as ‘Mark Makers’ who have led an unconventional path to success by doing what inspires them the most and leaving a mark along the way. Other ‘Mark Makers’ include award-winning director Spike Lee, actor Taron Egerton, actor, singer and writer Chen Kun, actress Xin Zhi Lei, and actor Cillian Murphy.
In the brand’s campaign film, Peggy invites us into her world by showcasing her many facets. On style, she says, “Style is very related to your attitude towards it. Wear it with confidence,” whilst flaunting an oversized pleated bright orange shirt and black leather pants.
When asked what moves her, Peggy shares, “Something should move you to be better. To do better. If you don‘t feel that, I feel like you are in a safe zone and you should find something that moves you. Always.”
Created by award-winning agency Wieden + Kennedy Amsterdam, the campaign conveys the message that Montblanc products are made to accompany you on your journey as you pursue what you love. As part of her partnership with Montblanc, she is seen sporting the new Cross Clutch from the Montblanc UltraBlack Collection.
