The Maison takes a stroll through the streets of Paris along its latest collection in a modern blend of creativity meets heritage.
Berluti, the legendary shoemaker, is redefining fashion and art. The brand unveiled a collection of ready-to-wear, leather goods, and footwear for Autumn/Winter 2022. The star this season is the blend of traditionalism and contemporary style. Its artistry with fine leathers, patinas, and colours was the guiding principle behind this collection of contemporary silhouettes imbued with classic elegance.
The luxe city wear, features short, straight jackets in black leather paired with suits and tailored trousers in shades of black, coffee fudge, and reddish greyish brown accompanied by Berluti hallmarks. These symbols appear from the patinated finish, subtle use of the Scritto pattern under the pocket flaps to the zipper pulls and tabs brought across from the iconic Un Jour bag. Berluti’s leather goods collection adds the iconic Un Jour and Toujours handbags, whose gradual smoky hues are named steel blue and elephant Grey. The Maison’s emblematic leather, Venezia make up the Jour Softy line with four products – the F088 briefcase, the Overnight weekend bag, the Journalier shoulder pouch bag and the cross-body Rider, all in a new Soft Brown patina.
Drapé’s craftsmanship is inspired by the draping fabric of classical sculptures, paintings, and drawings in art history. It design is applied to the iconic Alessandro, a buckled Oxford shoe, a boot in the Démesure line, and leather goods.
For the modern menswear collection, jacket silhouettes are given a boost of vitality by timeless casual staples. The colours are vibrant, ranging from intense (burnt sienna, russet, camel) to softer tones like smoky grey and beige, emphasizing the intricate detail of an embroidered 1895 Berluti Paris logo.
A new ultra-comfortable sneaker, Playoff is being introduced in supple Venezia leather. It comes in a high-top and low-top, with subtle patinas, and is recognizable by the strip of contrast leather inserted in its sole. Iconic models Playtime and Fast Track are reworked in different leathers and embellished with original colours.
Moreover, Berluti reinvents winter basics by fusing the formal and the casual with the Alto, its new Oxford shoe. Alto’s sole is entirely wrapped in Venezia leather; this design extends the Scritto pattern from the quarter to the sole’s Nero Grigio version, which is unique. Then there’s the Aspen, designed for adventurers and featuring Vibram rubber sole grip technology – it’s a refined mix of materials, with the Maison logo embossed on Cacao Intenso Venezia leather and lacing hooks.
Burruti’s imaginative colour chart proudly displays Venetian leather’s bright and vibrant shades. This leather is a true Maison signature, lending softness, and durability to the collection. The new shades of charcoal brown – a subtle blend of grey, brown, and black – steel blue, elephant grey, and St. Emilion are more stunning than ever.
