How did you formulate the new Dr. Dennis Gross Vitamin C Lactic Range ?

The new Vitamin C Lactic range is specifically formulated with Vitamin C and Lactic Acid to not only treat sun-aged skin, but prevent future damage. After months of research, I found that lactic acid, when combined with Vitamin C, actually improves the absorption and performance of vitamin C. They are a dynamic duo that helps to stimulate collagen production and diminish sunspots while also strengthening the moisture barrier. In fact, Lactic Acid on its own works to replenish and repair the moisture barrier with ceramides and GAGs, another great reason to pair with Vitamin C.

Who is advised to use the Dr. Dennis Gross Vitamin C Lactic Range? Is it suitable for all skin types?

I created Vitamin C Lactic to be suitable for all skin types, especially sensitive or sun-aged skin, so everyone can reap the benefits without any irritation.

• Oily skin: Try the Oil-Free Radiant Moisturiser. It gives you all the benefits of vitamin C without the risk of breakouts.
• Dry skin: I recommend Dewy Deep Cream. This moisturiser is intensely hydrating and leaves skin with a dewy glow.

It is often said that AHAs and BHAs, such as lactic acids should never be used with Vitamin C. Why did you combine Vitamin C and Lactic Acid?

It is important to remember that not all AHAs and BHAs have the same function, structure or benefits. Lactic acid, for example, is clinically proven to strengthen the moisture barrier and neutralise free radicals in the lipid layer of skin. Lactic acid is the perfect pair to Vitamin C because it supports and repairs the top layers of skin while Vitamin C works to stimulate collagen and disrupt hyperpigmentation in the deep layers of skin. Vitamin C can be irritating to the moisture barrier, but lactic acid works to strengthen it. I always follow the science, and medical literature proves these two deliver superior performance when combined in the same clinical formula.

What other products can be used alongside the Dr. Dennis Gross Vitamin C Lactic Range?

The top piece of advice I give to patients is to use collagen-building active ingredients. A well-rounded skincare routine with scientifically-proven ingredients – such as LED light therapy, retinol, all-physical SPF– will support the same goals you are trying to achieve with Vitamin C and Lactic Acid. Collagen is the protein that gives our skin structure, and the key to healthy, smooth skin. However, natural production reduces with age. There are no side effects to be concerned about with vitamin c and lactic acid. If you are concerned about sensitivity, you can patch test the product. Wait 24 hours to ensure there is no irritation to continue usage.
