The allure: On a sun-filled day while picking fruits for jam and flowers for bouquets, Dido Merwin, friend of Diptyque’s trio of founders, encountered an unusual aromatic union. In time, this vignette formed the foundation of L’Ombre dans l’Eau, or fittingly, “shadow in the water”.

Did you know? Created in 1983 by Serge Kalouguine, this perfume was designed to recreate a stroll through a lush English garden. Blackcurrant leaves and Bulgarian roses make this curious fragrance, while hints of cassis and musk complete this idyllic escapade into nature.
