I’ve always associated pearlescent nail polish with…women of a certain age. Throw Easter egg shades into the mix and it’s just too High tea at the Plaza, not at all cool or modern. Go solid or go sparkly; what’s the point of the in-between? But if there’s a polish to make me reconsider my stance, it’s one of these spring YSL shades. They’re like little psychedelic potions in a bottle—part ’70s tie-dye, part Palm Beach—and they look like magic on, especially when they catch the light in a dark room.
