Tory Burch Spring/Summer’17

What’s one of the best things about living in Malaysia? Perpetual summer. That free-spirited, laid back and beautifully dewy vibe is yours to channel all year round – this weekend, take inspiration from Tory Burch’s Spring/Summer’17 show to heat things up. Make-up artist Diane Kendal describes the beauty as “East Coast meets West Coast, a bit bohemian,” and hairstylist Guido Palau cites the inspiration behind his half-up-half-down-do as “a woman who is very chic and very easy with her beauty.” Jessica Alba’s Honest Beauty range was used for the show (unfortunately unavailable locally), but here are some star substitutes to recreate the look.

1. Luminescent Skin

Think soft, natural and fresh. You’ve just returned from a walk along Santa Monica Pier and your skin is effortlessly dewy, with sunlight hitting all the right places. Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation will get you that look; its innovative formula guarantees radiance, and even has SPF25/PA++ for added sun protection. Top tip: Blend with a damp BeautyBlender for a truly undetectable finish.

2. You Glow Girl

A healthy flush of blush will instantly lift your complexion – add in rosebud lips and you’re practically irresistible. For this job, we turn to a cult classic from NARS: The Multiple. This multitasking wonder can be used on your cheeks, lips and eyes; the convenient stick form makes it a handbag essential. Top tip: Using your fingers, warm up some of the product on the back of your hand before dabbing onto the apples of your cheeks and centre of your lips.

3. Get The Hair

Palau explains how to achieve the alluring hairstyle:

“Spray Wind Blown 05 from Redken to texturise the hair, and use a large barrel curling iron — applying very loose movement, not waves — all over the head. Then make a messy center part and gather the top half of the hair into a ponytail. Finish it by wrapping the ponytail with a little hair.”

Kendal created faux freckles by drawing them on with brown eyeliner and patting them into the skin for a natural fade; as seen here on Hailey Baldwin.
