Diptyque Have Revamped Their Classic Candles

A Classic Rebirthed

There are certain objects that come to define a brand, and for Diptyque, its classic candle is one of them. Recognisable at a glance, it has remained largely unchanged for decades. In 2026, the Maison has chosen to evolve it, introducing subtle design updates, a more considered approach to longevity, and five new scents.

A closer look at Diptyque’s revamped candle collection, featuring a lighter vessel, refillable inserts and five new signature scents.

At first glance, very little appears different. The transparent glass, white wax and signature oval label are all still there. However, the vessel has been gently reshaped with slightly more defined contours, while a delicate oval ridge now frames the label, enhancing the way light interacts with the glass and flame.

The label itself feels sharper, too. Its monochrome palette and distinctive lettering remain, but the lines are more precise, giving the design a cleaner, more elevated finish without losing its character. Beyond aesthetics, the craftsmanship remains unchanged. Each candle is still produced in France, where the balance of wax, fragrance and wick is carefully calibrated to ensure an even burn and faithful scent diffusion.

One of the most notable updates is the introduction of a refill system. A selection of the Maison’s core scents will now be available as inserts, allowing the original vessel to be reused. It formalises what many already do, while also reducing waste over time. The glass itself has been made lighter, further contributing to a lower environmental impact.

New Additions

Alongside the redesign, five new scents join the collection, each centred around a distinct ingredient.

Café captures the warmth of freshly ground coffee, with soft roasted notes that feel comforting rather than overpowering. Ortie offers a green, almost dewy freshness inspired by nettle, balanced with subtle earthy undertones. Sésame Noir leans richer, blending roasted sesame with woody notes for a scent that feels both warm and quietly indulgent. Rhubarbe brings a brighter profile, where tart, fruity facets are softened by smoother, more grounded elements.

Shiso is perhaps the most complex of the five. Fresh and aromatic with a gentle hint of spice and almond, it unfolds gradually and feels slightly unexpected.

Rather than a complete reinvention, this update feels like a natural progression. The essence of the classic candle remains intact, but with thoughtful adjustments that bring it into a more contemporary space.
