Luxury fragrance brand Diptyque has revealed that they scented the royal wedding, after Meghan Markle and Prince Harry personally chose a selection of fresh and floral fragrances, perfect for spring, for the momentous occasion.

The brand’s iconic candles and room sprays helped scent the spaces where the Duke and Duchess of Sussex prepared for their special day, and the fragrances were also used to enhance the beautiful surroundings of St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.

The brand is unable to reveal the exact fragrances they supplied, but for something deliciously spring-fresh from Diptyque we recommend their Tubéreuse and Roses scented candles, pictured, and room sprays.

While Diptyque officially scented the royal wedding venue, it was previously revealed that perfumer Floris London created a bespoke scent for the couple to wear themselves on the day.

According to People, the scent is based on the existing Bergamotto di Positano fragrance, described on the Floris website as: “A unisex citrus marine eau de parfum that evokes the warmth of a Mediterranean sea breeze, sunshine and clear shimmering water.” The special version for the royal wedding is part of a private collection, so isn’t available to buy.

Whether Markle (or Prince Harry) actually wore the perfumer’s scent on May 19th is uncertain, but the newlywed’s passion for perfume is well-known. The Duchess of Sussex previously told the Express in 2016: “Fragrance is my favourite thing. So much so that if I leave the house and I don’t put any on, I’ll turn around and go back home.
