Emma Stone: “I Choose A Different Perfume For Each Character I’ve Played”

Oscar-winning actress Emma Stone’s latest role is for Louis Vuitton, which today unveiled its first fragrance film staring the house ambassador, directed by fellow Academy Award-winning talent, Sam Mendes.

The captivating film celebrates the launch of Attrape-Rêves, the ninth women’s fragrance in the collection Les Parfums Louis Vuitton, all of which are intended to represent journeys.

Stone proves the perfect ambassador for the launch, not only as an actor with such a versatile presence, but for her personal connection to scent.

“I choose a different perfume for each character I’ve played,” she tells Bazaar, “so since I was 16, I’ve had perfumes I can go back to and remember that time in my life.” Something many of us can relate to.

“My sense of smell is super strong – maybe overcompensating for my terrible eyesight – so scent has always been the quickest sense-memory for me. I remember most time periods through scent,” Stone reveals.

The film for Attrape-Rêves looks at the different moments in a woman’s life journey, with Stone displaying different emotions in various scenarios, all to a dreamy soundtrack of Beyonce’s ‘XO’.

Even without smelling the scent, it draws you in.
