Mark Tuan and the New YSL MYSLF Fragrance

YSL Beauty have always been known to march to the beat of their own drum. Never conforming and always championing individuality, each release from the House always encompasses these values and their new MYSLF eau de parfum isn’t an exception.

Writing their own definition of modern masculinity, this new fragrance is an assertive bouquet of bergamot, orange blossom, patchouli heart and Ambrofix. It’s masculine, luxurious and encourages the exploration of all your own nuances and passions.

Sitting down with artist, Mark Tuan, who was recently in Kuala Lumpur for the opening of the latest YSL Beauty store opening at The Exchange TRX, he exclusively shares his own thoughts of the new MYSLF fragrance and what song of his best resonates with the scent.

You were recently here in Kuala Lumpur for a concert in January, how was it and would you like to say anything special to your fans?

MT: I had a lot of fun! It’s been two years since I’ve been back and it’s pretty much my first concert here so I had a great time and I just hope to come here more often and I’m looking forward to doing more shows in the future. I want to thank everybody for waiting for such a long time and I know everybody has been wanting a concert here and I know it’s not with GOT7 but I appreciate them coming out to support us individually so hopefully one day GOT7 will be able to come here.

Is there a particular way you apply perfume?

MT: I usually just spray it on my wrist and then dab my neck too, then spray myself one more time. But I’ve learnt that the YSL way to put on perfume is to spray your shoulders and then spray yourself.

How does the MYSLF resonate with you personally?

MT: I think it’s very sophisticated and I feel like I can use it a lot. It’s pretty refreshing and elegant.

If you could match the mood of the MYSLF fragrance to one of your songs, which one would it be and why?

MT: I want to say ‘Everyone Else Fades’, just because I feel like it’s a bit more mature than my other songs.

What are some of your personal goals in 2024?

MT: In 2024 I just really want to work on myself this year. I want to take more lessons and hope to be able to put on better performances and be able to do more different kinds of work in the future—like acting and stuff like that.
