Nicole Kidman talks to BAZAAR about her new role as the new global brand ambassador for Clé de Peau Beauté.

The beauty world has a new queen: Nicole Kidman officially joins Japanese luxury beauty brand Clé de Peau Beauté as their global brand ambassador, marking a pivotal moment for both actress and brand.

The partnership feels like a most natural fit. Kidman just embodies the brand’s core philosophy of “Radiance”—where intelligence, artistry, and purpose come together to create something extraordinary. The Academy Award winner’s stellar four-decade career mirrors Clé de Peau Beauté’s uncompromising standards. She consistently chooses roles that challenge conventions and amplify underrepresented voices. Recall her honest performance in last year’s Babygirl, as well as in the spectacular Moulin Rouge (2001), 2019’s Bombshell and, of course, her Oscar-winning turn in The Hours (2002). Her dedication to meaningful storytelling aligns perfectly with the brand’s vision of transformative beauty.

In an exclusive interview, BAZAAR talks to the new ambassador about finding strength, personal beauty tips and her one Clé de Peau Beauté essential. 

The Philosophy Of Empowerment

As someone who has always believed in the power of positivity, how does representing Clé de Peau Beauté align with your personal values?

I love Clé de Peau Beauté’s philosophy of empowerment. I think so much of beauty is about the way we feel and the Clé de Peau Beauté products truly are beautiful and make you feel great.

Radiance is central to Clé de Peau Beauté’s philosophy. How do you define radiance?

Radiance, to me, is much more than just a physical glow—it’s about feeling balanced and confident. True radiance comes from nurturing yourself from the inside out. For me, it’s about being the best version of myself—staying true to what matters most, embracing the moments that shape me, and allowing that authenticity to shine.

What are you looking forward to the most in your partnership with Clé de Peau Beauté?

Aside from enjoying Clé de Peau Beauté’s exquisite products, I am very much looking forward to supporting Clé de Peau Beauté in their philanthropic endeavors. As a UN Women Goodwill Ambassador, my work is centered around advocating for gender equality, empowering women, and supporting initiatives that foster positive social change. Clé de Peau Beauté’s focus on education and women’s empowerment complements my work in advocating for the rights of women and girls worldwide. We both strive to create meaningful change, making a difference in the lives of those who need it most.

True Luxury

What does “ultimate luxury” mean to you, both personally and professionally?

To me, “ultimate luxury” goes beyond the tangible—it’s about mastery, intention, and elevating the everyday things you love into something that is absolutely extraordinary. Personally, it’s in moments of connection, self-reflection, and self-care. Professionally, it’s the ability to delve into complex emotional landscapes that transform both me and the audience.

What gives you strength and courage to do what you love every day? 

I derive a huge amount of resilience and drive from the love and support of my family and gain a tremendous amount of strength from the incredible women I meet from all around the world. 

This is why I pledged to work with female directors every 18 months, why I work with UN Women, and why I’m so very excited to be a part of the Clé de Peau Beauté for UNICEF partnership—working to empower girls around the world through STEM education. This partnership fosters a supportive community of women who uplift one another while empowering the next generation to carry the baton forward. 

Nicole’s Personal Picks

You’ve just joined the brand. What are some of your favourite new Clé de Peau Beauté discoveries? 

I’ve worked with a Japanese make-up artist for my feature projects many times throughout my career, so Clé de Peau Beauté has long been in my personal collection. The Serum and La Crème are now steadfast in my skincare regime, and The Foundation is divine. It provides such radiant coverage and blurs any imperfections. And my skin feels healthier and more boosted when I take it off!

That said, I still have some major homework to do to acquaint myself with the full Clé de Peau Beauté product portfolio—a challenge I’m more than happy to accept!

If you could pick just one Clé de Peau Beauté must-have, which one would it be?

I always have La Crème with m. It travels with me in my handbag, in my suitcase, in the car—everywhere!

Are there any beauty tips or routines you’ve adopted over the years that contribute to your appearance?

Sunscreen is my absolute essential. Growing up in Australia with the sun and with my fair skin I was always applying sunscreen and it’s just stayed with me. The UV Protective Cream is my new favourite and is applied everyday.  

Have you ever used beauty products in unexpected ways?

I’m always looking for ways to streamline my routine, especially when I travel. I have always been a fan of face oil, and since discovering Clé de Peau Beauté’s Radiant Multi-Repair Oil, it has become a “must” in my travel bag. Since my hair is curly, I like to braid it before I sleep. A bit of the multi-oil in the lengths of my hair while I am braiding is an indulgent treat.

Finding Balance

How do you balance the demands of your acting career with maintaining your beauty regimen?

My beauty regimen is an important part to my every day. Whether I’m on set or at home, it’s a key part of my routine. I always start my day with sunscreen and the one I’m loving right now is the UV Protective Cream. It’s SPF 50+ and over 50% of the ingredients are skincare, targeting any fine lines all while making my skin feel plump and illuminated.
