Presenting the latest addition to the CELINE Haute Parfumerie collection – ZouZou.
There’s just something about perfumes that transports the wearer to a certain feeling or place in time. CELINE’s Haute Parfumerie collection transports us to a particular moment. As Hedi Slimane’s twelfth creation, the parfumerie is inspired by “couturier parfumeur” while embodying the excellence of French haute parfumerie. For Zouzou, the scent transports us to a nostalgic journey, a tribute to the sylph-like heroines of the ‘60s.
Zouzou captures the essence of young women with a lively allure, reminiscent of the ‘60s icons from movies and literature. A single spritz of the heavenly scent transports you to a time when fresh-faced and mischievous-looking heroines ruled the world.
Everything to know about CELINE’s latest scent, ZOUZOU
Hedi Slimane revisits the name of this project with an affectionate and child-like name that mixes the nickname formerly given to young girls with short hair or to loved ones. The result? A fragrant portrait of youth that delicately materialises the spirit of a Parisian teenage girl.
Zouzou is a beautiful amber and musk creation, enveloped with a balmy accord of caramel overtones. Created around benzoin and tonka bean, the scent features CELINE’s chic neo-classic twist. The accords of patchouli and labdanum underline the fragrance’s ambery and elegant character with powdery musk and vanilla trails.
Bottle design for CELINE ZOUZOU
The bottle’s design is truly outstanding. Created by Slimane himself, it exemplifies the great tradition of French glassmaking. Decorated with sharp-edged fluting and topped with a faceted black-lacquered cap, the bottle adds a touch of modern Art Deco.
When you receive your bottle, the box is wrapped in paper with a “grain de poudre” texture. Furthermore, the paper is embossed to create the effect of 17th-century mouldings. The mouldings takes inspiration by the woodwork panelling in the Hôtel Colbert de Torcy – where the Celine ateliers are located, specifically at 16 Rue Vivienne in Paris.
The Maison’s emblem, the “Triomphe,” is engraved on the top of the cap, which was chosen by the Maison’s founder, Céline Vipiana. She saw her split initial “C” designed in the links cinching the “Arc de Triomphe” one day in 1971. Lastly, the cap completes the bottle’s sense of belonging to the history of the couture house.
Zouzou will be available in June 2024 at the CELINE boutique at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur and at The Exchange Mall, TRX.
