Style stars Kim Raymond, Shikin Gomez and Fyza Kadir are #InSyncAllWays.

Developed by Shiseido laboratories, the ActiveForce™ Technology that sits at the forefront of the brand’s latest range of foundation which allows for the formulation to resist humidity, respond to heat, rebound from facial movement, absorb oil, diffuse light, and protect against UV rays. The result: a just-applied look that lasts all day. But you don’t have to take our word for it, in a sit down with Shiseido’s Celebrity Make-Up Artist, Vincent Oquendo, the red carpet maestro actually finds that the formula actually gets better as the day goes on.

Staying in sync always. Kim Raymond gets a first-hand feel of the Synchro Skin Cushion Compact.

The renowned make-up artist said that the self-refreshing aspect works especially better in hot and humid temperatures. “It’s perfect for a country like Malaysia because it really works as hard as your skin needs it to,” says the red carpet maestro.

Using a proprietary combination of active gels, time match powders, and self-repairing gels the ActiveForce™ Technology doesn’t just allow for exceptional coverage that guards against oil, humidity, and facial movement, it also blocks UV rays without affecting the formula’s colour payoff. “Harmonised across multiple products, shade-matching is foolproof, no matter the format,” says James Boehmer, Global Artistic Director for Shiseido Make-Up.

Leveraging on the company's illustrious skincare heritage and building off of Shiseido’s award-winning WetForce™ Technology that provides increased UV protection after being exposed to water or sweat, the Japanese brand takes their foundation further by identifying everyday factors that cause a foundation to degrade. "This revolutionary technology features a trio of ingredients that work together synergistically to transform negatives into positives," explains Gail Boyé, Senior Vice President of Global Product Development for Shiseido Make-Up.

Soft, natural glow. Fashion maven Fyza Kadir wears the second skin formula that is Shiseido Synchro Skin.

Building upon the ever-present heat and humidity in Asian climates, the trio of powerhouse ingredients utilises moisture and perspiration to create a barrier that prolongs make-up wear. In harsher heat and humidity conditions, the formulation even coats itself with oils and sebum that is naturally secreted by skin to increase the diffusion of light for that soft, natural glow. Incorporating a unique blend of polymers featuring an elastomeric complex within the formulation, Synchro Skin is able to off-set facial movement and expressions, effectively syncing with the skin to allow the make-up to move in tandem with your facial expressions.

And to test that theory, we paired three Malaysian make-up artists with their three skin muses to investigate just how potent the trio that is Synchro Skin Self-Refreshing Foundation, Synchro Skin Self-Refreshing Cushion Compact, and Synchro Skin Self-Refreshing Concealer.
