Three Returns to Malaysia, with its Considered Approach to Skincare

After a period away, Japanese wellness house Three is back in Malaysia, marking its 15th anniversary with a refined perspective on what skincare can offer beyond the surface.

Founded in Japan in 2009, Three has always operated from a quietly confident position. It’s not one to shout about luxury but rather lets quality speak through carefully selected ingredients and thoughtful formulation. After all, the brand's philosophy centres on Shindōfuji, the Japanese concept of body and land as inseparable. Consequently, this translates into products built around Japanese botanicals and essential oils.

A holistic approach

What sets Three apart is its holistic approach. At their Holistic Research Centre, essential oils aren't just about fragrance—they're high-performance actives containing hundreds of beneficial compounds. For instance, a signature ingredient, Tea Seed Oil, is pressed from discarded Camellia sinensis seeds. Essentially, this demonstrates the brand's commitment to upcycling long before it became fashionable. Better still, the brand grows over 30 ingredients in its own Kyushu herb garden.

The essential trio

The relaunched collection features Three's Balancing range, led by three bestsellers. Namely, the Balancing Cleansing Oil (RM240), an effective first-step cleanser that removes the day's accumulation. The Balancing Nectar Lotion (RM275), an essence-in-toner with thirty polysaccharides for lasting hydration. And lastly, the Balancing Nectar Cream Wash (RM220), a foam cleanser suited to those dealing with dullness.
