Adwoa Aboah and Juergen Teller have teamed up as part of a new photo series for Burberry.
The two have revealed the first set of images from their collaboration, with new pictures expected to drop throughout 2018. The initial selection of photographs feature Aboah together with her friends and family, including her cousins Alfie Husband, George Husband, Richard Theodore-Aboah and Kwame N’Dow, as well as Montell Martin and Mae Muller along Regent’s Canal in North London. The group all wear pieces from the brand’s new collection, which will be available to buy from January.
Commissioned by Christopher Bailey – who leaves the brand at the end of the year – Teller and Adwoa collaborated on cast, location and aesthetic, producing a naturalistic set of images that imbue the photographer’s raw, snapshot signature style. They are both youthful and candid, reflecting the modern direction Bailey has driven over his 17-year-long Burberry tenure.
“It has been a huge honour for me to work with Burberry and Juergen Teller on this inspiring project,” said Aboah. “My role as both model and artistic director is one I have really enjoyed and embraced. Christopher Bailey is an incredible visionary and it has been an amazing experience to work together with him and Juergen to create this series of stories.”
