Barbara Palvin is the latest model to become a Victoria’s Secret Angel. She first walked for the lingerie brand in 2012 and has featured in multiple campaigns since, making her catwalk return in the 2018 VS show in New York.
This marks the first time that a Hungarian model has been given the title. Palvin, who described the news as the “ultimate career high”, announced the news on her Instagram page.

She went onto to thank her family and VS boss Ed Razek for supporting her. “There were times where I let my own thoughts hold me back and it was a hard climb away from those,” she said. “But my family, my team, Ed, and everyone at VS they were always there to support me and uplift me. I am proud to represent Hungary, and most importantly, all of you in this new chapter of my life!”
Palvin has previously modelled for luxury brands including Prada, Louis Vuitton and Christopher Kane.
The 2018 Victoria’s Secret show was watched by fewer people than ever before when it aired in December. The catwalk event, which starred the Hadid sisters, as well as Kendall Jenner, attracted a record low of only 3.3 million viewers, compared to five million last year. It was broadcast on ABC in the US and streamed on Hayu for UK viewers.
