Fashion can take itself very seriously. It’s easy to get lost in the fun and frivolity of beautiful things on one side. And on the other, the heady esoteric inspirations of artists. but somewhere in the middle, when clothes are both food and serviceable, it’s a reminder of why we do this. Olsen sisters Mary-Kate and Ashley have always leaned on the arty, serious side of the fence, belaboring their fabric, inspiration and presentation choices. For fall, they just showed great clothes. No drama.
