You can take a girl out of the Upper East Side, giver her some black leather and plonk her down in the middle of the Meatpacking District, but you can’t totally scrub her tony elegance. You can’t even just a little bit when the girl in question is Carolina Herrera. But to message a new era at the brand, she bypassed showing at the gorgeously appointed Frick uptown for a raw industrial space that nevertheless has historic ties to the city – a spot with a stunning glass ceiling designed by I.M. Pei and once the printing house of Colliers where E.E. Cummings once worked.
