Bags We Adore from Burberry Spring 2024

The Knight and Shield bag tops our most-wanted list from Burberry Spring 2024.

For Burberry Spring 2024, Daniel Lee continues to build on British wardrobe archetypes with refreshing colour palettes and trim silhouettes that “cut closer to the body”. As with previous seasons, the celebrated check—new and reimagined from the archive—is reinterpreted. To note, the houndstooth check evolves into a psychedelic print; warped and magnified across coordinating fits throughout the collection.

Elsewhere, quintessential British motifs including rambling roses, charming ducks and swans, and delicate dandelions—a new addition to the mix of flora and fauna—are implemented as thoughtful details in contrasting hues. At the heart of the collection, practical pieces made for the outdoors take centre stage as referenced through iconic trench coats, cosy blanket capes and plush leather puffer coats which are complemented with elegant knitwear, robust denim and sturdy accessories including the Knight bag and Shield bag.

Bags to covet

This season, the Knight bag collection expands its territory, taking on new sizes and textures. Now available in a puffy nappa leather variation, the new addition injects playfulness to its classic and versatile façade. Meanwhile, its bridled horse clip remains, complemented with an adjustable chain strap that lends a polished finish to its timeless figure. Wear the bag as a shoulder bag or a spacious tote to suit your outfit and mood. Either way, the bag’s plush silhouette will elevate your day-to-day outfit seamlessly.

The Shield bag too, is given a makeover, updated in new materials and prints such as crinkled leather and jacquard-woven Prince of Wales check. With its subtle design and clean aesthetic, the Shield bag can be worn from day-to-night easily with any outfit. Elsewhere, the Shield tote in quilted leather featuring an embossed Equestrian Knight Design (EKD) detail is introduced into the ever-evolving Shield family.
