Coach Spring 2023 Collection

Lil Nas X makes his runway debut at the Coach Spring 2023 show.

For Coach Spring 2023, Stuart Vevers unveiled a collection that explored the House’s rich American heritage rooted in fluidity and circularity. “Celebrating the beauty of imperfections”, Vevers churned out a series of looks built on layers of pop culture and legacy combined. Together, the pieces on offer projected a new form of luxury that was both expressive and exciting.

“With Spring, I wanted to evolve notions of luxury that place an emphasis on perfection,” said Vevers in a press statement. “Inspired by the next generation’s fluid approach to fashion, the collection celebrates pieces that become more beautiful the more they are worn and loved, and references to the past rediscovered in the present,” he continued.

Looks that dominated the runway were slightly oversized and rested well above the knee giving a youthful vibe throughout. Out came boxy outerwear pieces and hand-knit fisherman sweaters with visible signs of repair (the colourful threads were a fun touch). Then came girly babydoll dresses that projected an innocent dose of femininity, while varsity-inspired pieces gave Coach enthusiasts a slice of “Americana subverted with attitude.”

Pieces to note include one-of-a-kind leather jackets and Tabby bags made from repurposed footballs and jackets. Also on our radar are the dainty Mary Jane heels and jelly sandals—you can team this with the Tabby bag in jelly material too—that are sure to be a hit when Spring rolls around.

And with a collection catered for the next generation, who best to represent their ethos and identity than Lil Nas X. The talented rapper and singer made his debut as the new global ambassador of the House and walked his first ever runway show.

“It was such a fun experience being part of the Coach show and walking on my first runway ever. I’m super excited to make my debut as a face of Coach, a fashion house that believes in a lot of the same things as me. I can’t wait to share all of the other amazing things I’ve been working on with Stuart and his team very soon.”

Of the partnership, Vevers was “thrilled to partner with Lil Nas X on his first runway show” adding that “he is the epitome of the next generation’s inspiring approach to self-expression.”
