Word on the streets was that while the Belgian designer was busy collating images for his mood board in light of his upcoming Spring/Summer ’20 collection, references had all pointed back to the great ’80s couturier, Christian Lacroix. And from that, stemmed a bromance like no other, resulting in a collection that brought the best of the Belgian north and the Provençal south. Here, purist minimalism met eccentric escapism in a phantasmagoria of tailored brocades and flouncy flamenco skirts, but paired cleverly with everyday denims and finished off with a flourish of an elegant ostrich feather. A fashion match, made in heaven.
