Life in Technicolour

Kim Jones explores fashion illustrator Antonio Lopez’s vivid brushstrokes and elegant take on colours for Spring/Summer ’22.

A modern take on disco-age glamour, Kim Jones casts the spotlight on FENDI's diverse and feminine DNA. This season, Jones looked to fashion illustrator Antonio Lopez's visionary artworks as a source of inspiration for Spring/Summer 2022. “Lopez was a friend of Karl’s, and has always been someone who inspired me. He was forward thinking; inclusive; looked up to by everyone from Andy Warhol to Steven Meisel and David Hockney. I wanted to introduce him to a new generation," said Jones in a statement.

In collaboration with the The Estate and Archive of Antonio Lopez and Juan Ramos, several of the artist's works have been brought to life through the FENDI lens. Vivid brushstrokes and graphic figures appear across kaftans, shoes, hair accessories, dresses and silk shirts in striking hues and soft pastels. The whimsical drawings have also been translated across several of the House's iconic bags including the FENDI Peekaboo ISEEU, the Baguette, and FENDI First to name a few.
