It all begins with the finest leather, sourced, tanned, and processed in Italy to ensure both beauty and durability. The leather is carefully chosen not just for its aesthetic appeal, but for its strength and resilience. The soft calfskin feels luxurious, offering a velvety, supple texture.

One of the highlight features is the hand-braided handles. This step is where craftsmanship truly shines. Each leather strip is expertly braided by artisans. Which adds not only an elegant design element but also enhancing the strength of the handles. The braid even extends to the charm, a refined detail that makes the Hug bag truly unique.

Once the leather components are perfected and the handles braided to perfection, the assembly begins. The foundation of the bag is stitched with expert care—the bottom securely attached to the main body, and the handles seamlessly integrated. This step demands high precision, as zippers, metal closures, and the iconic Ferragamo logos are also added.

In line with the resurgence of ballet flats among fashion lovers, the Ballerina Flats offers a fresh take on a classic. But Ferragamo’s and ballet flats date back nearly a century. If you know a thing or two about Salvatore Ferragamo, you’ll know he earned the title “shoemaker to the stars.” Audrey Hepburn wore Ferragamo ballerinas, but they also graced the feet of famous ballet dancers. Among them includes Katherine Dunham, Alicia Markova, and Anna Pavlova—a true testament to their quality.

Perfecting this shoe has been a decades-long effort. The process begins with a carefully drawn last, setting the foundation for the shape and fit. Next, craftsmen expertly stitch the glittering upper material to the metallic nappa toe, ensuring both a secure hold and a smooth, sleek finish.

With the upper assembled, it’s time to close the back, forming the signature pouch-like construction. A padded leather insole is then sewn directly into the lining, offering the comfort and support you expect from Ferragamo. Finally, the craftsman meticulously corrects the upper, positioning it to maintain flawless symmetry before attaching the pièce de résistance—the iconic Vara plate.
