Your First Look at Anthony Vaccarello’s YSL is Here

Two and a half months after Saint Laurent named Anthony Vaccarello creative director, the first images from the designer’s debut campaign for the house have arrived; and they’re a big tease.

The stark black-and-white photos shot by Collier Schorr—with videos directed by Nathalie Canguilhem—feature a cast of new faces—but they reveal little clothing. Though not a jarring departure from the slick campaigns of Vaccarello’s predecessor, Hedi Slimane, who photographed his own (often in black and white), the minimalist vibe of the new images and videos are vaguely reminiscent of ’90s Calvin Klein.
