When fashion merges with music
Set within the grounds of Kensington Gardens, the Burberry Summer 2026 show draws inspiration from the UK’s music scene and rooted in the spirit for British culture and modern creativity.
Draped in bold prints, exuberant colours and contemporary silhouettes, the collection saw a shuffle of fringes, detailed crochet, beads, bootcut trousers, leathers and the classic checkered silhouettes splatted across the collection. You’d think to see dark, moody colours reminiscent of rockstars’ palette, but the colour hues for the collection shift between beige, brown and indigo and are punctuated by bold colours like green and butter yellow.
There was a return of three-button and matching double-breasted jackets in wool and denim, but also novelty pieces such as the Baez sandals, a new lace-up boot and new shapes of bags, such as the Bridle bags—a slouchy tote.
Since, the collection was inspired by the British music scene, most of the pieces merged grunge aesthetic with classic codes. ‘Music is about self-expression, originality and belonging,’ said Daniel Lee, Burberry’s chief creative officer, of the inspiration behind the Summer 2026 show. ‘From festivals and stadiums to open-air concerts, every summer the UK comes to life with style and sound.’ Rounding up the show is the music that sets the tone for the collection. We heard the likes of Benji B’s track such ‘Planet Caravan’, ‘You Won’t Change Me’ and ‘N.I.B.’.
