Longchamp Unveils their Cheeky Collaboration with Toiletpaper

Longchamp collaborates with arts publication Toiletpaper to create a mischievous collection.

Longchamp x Toiletpaper

Longchamp presents Longchamp x Toiletpaper featuring playful images and bright colour palettes. The collaboration with the mischievous arts publication sees Longchamp motifs (such as the sprinting horse logo and leather pipe), the baguette and the French bulldog embellish Longchamp’s iconic Le Pliage handbag.

Of the collaboration, creative director Sophie Delafontaine said “At LONGCHAMP, we are always inspired by the intersection of fashion and art. We were really enthused by TOILETPAPER’s unique way of combining art, fashion and pop-culture references with a dose of humour.”

“We try to invent, to make life not boring,” said artist and co-founder of TOILETPAPER, Maurizio Cattelan, in a statement. “For this collaboration with LONGCHAMP, we wanted to play with the codes of French icons and of the Maison so that they became alive again. Each image can be seen from multiple different points of view—there isn’t just one message,” added Pierpaolo Ferrari, photographer and co-founder of TOILETPAPER.

The capsule collection has five original designs in vibrant colour palettes of candy-pink, sky-blue and sunshine-yellow featuring thought-provoking prints. “All the pictures we have done for LONGCHAMP have a big graphic element. We like to use visual components that are very common for everybody. They’re the kind of thing you’ve seen thousands of times, and in this way, they become invisible. We wanted to play with the codes of French icons that were not very exciting anymore, so that they became alive again, and also to reinterpret the codes of the Maison,” said Ferrari.
