Louis Vuitton staged their Cruise 2025 show in Barcelona.
Louis Vuitton paid homage to Spain with a flamboyant show staged at Antoni Gaudi’s Park Güell in Barcelona. Speaking of his decision to showcase the collection in Barcelona, Nicolas Ghesquière touched on the “idea of an architectural journey” and the wonders of Antoni Gaudi’s works. “This marks the first time that a show will take place in the magnificent Park Güell, a dream project of a Garden City that also features a model home. A utopia—one of my favorite things!—that reconciles nature and urbanism. Gaudí is a world in its own right: he had a singular and fascinating point of view in his interpretation of Art Nouveau, and above all he’s an architect who shaped the personality of a city in a unique way,” said Ghesquière.

In true form Ghesquière presented his signature style that merged cultural influences effortlessly. “I like referencing things without ostentation. It’s Spain as seen through French eyes: in short, there’s no flamenco, but there are flounces! The collection is like a travelogue from which I drew various elements and adapted them to my work.” Sharp tailored looks dominated the runway as did flamboyant silhouettes that showcased architectural volumes and fluid draping. Elsewhere, ruffles, embroidery and fringes embellished ready to wear creations and accessories alongside new interpretations of iconic shapes such as the Be Alma and the Noé Trunk to name a few.
