The Secrets Behind Penelope Cruz’s Chanel Haute Couture Gown At The Oscars 2020

When it comes to awards season and all the hautest red carpet looks, Penélope Cruz never disappoints. At the 92nd Academy Awards in Los Angles at the Dolby Theatre, the actress oozed class and sophistication in Chanel couture as the presenter for the Best Foreign Language Film award.

Her dress was designed by creative director Virginie Viard and specially made for the Spanish actress who is also the ambassador of Chanel.

Referenced from a Spring/Summer 1995 Haute Couture show, the gown featured a strapless bustier bodice that fanned out at the bottom into a voluminous, high-low ballgown skirt, poufed with crinoline.

The couture dress was made of black silk and took 230 hours of craftmanship by six full-time seamstresses to create this beautiful masterpiece.
