A name that rings sheer pleasure in hearts of women near and far, Manolo Blahnik is set to take us back to where it all began in the new documentary titled Manolo (The Boy Who Made Shoes for Lizards).
The documentary will shine light on the shoe designer’s most prominent works and trials as a designer, from childhood beginnings of making shoes for lizards in candy wrappers to the current powerhouse and pop culture status the label now represents.
Michael Roberts, style editor-at-large of Vanity Fair is the director of the project. “Having known Manolo for over 30 years, I can say he is a multifaceted intellectual and romantic whose engaging mind and ingenious work is made for entertaining cinema,” Roberts said.
Manolo (The Boy Who Made Shoes for Lizards) will also feature some of the designer’s A-list legion of fans like Andre Leon Talley, Candace Bushnell, Iman, Jamie Preto, Rihanna, and the unforgettable Sarah Jessica Parker.
