Live fashion updates from the South of France.

Isabelle Hupert at the Cannes Film Festival 2026, wearing Balenciaga.
We’re in the thick of the 79th annual Cannes Film Festival. From May 12 until May 23, the biggest players of the global film industry descend into the South of France to celebrate the art form and preview new films of every genre, including the highly anticipated films, Fatherland by Pawel Pawlikowski, Club Kid by Jordan Firstman, Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma by Jane Schoenbrun, and Bitter Christmas by Pedro Almodóvar. For those watching from the outside, far from La Croisette, there is much excitement as news and reviews slowly trickle out of the festival day by day. But luckily, the red carpet has provided ample distraction as celebrities turned up in full glamour.
A refreshing break from method dressing, the best dressed women at the Cannes Film Festival went back to basics; simplicity and restraint reigned, even when playing with more adventurous elements, such as menswear tailoring, structured silhouettes, and unique textures.
See all the best red carpet looks from the leading ladies of the Cannes Film Festival 2026.
