It is another sad day in the world of fashion as Carven announced that they will part ways with the designer duo Alexis Martial and Adrien Caillaudaud after their short residency at the fashion house. Martial and Caillaudaud debuted their collection for Carven as artistic directors in March 2015. In a brief statement by the fashion house, the split comes from “mutual agreement” between the label and the designers.

The dynamic duo presented their last collection at the recent Paris Fashion Week (Spring/Summer ’17). It is also noted that their successor will be announced in the near future.

The fashion industry is undergoing vast changes in recent times; following the departure of Consuelo Castiglioni from Marni and Roberto Cavalli parting ways with designer Peter Dundas. So what is next for Carven? Who will be appointed the directore artistique? 

The bigger question is. Will we bid adieu to any more designers in 2016?
