The fashion world is in a frenzy over the most coveted accessory of the season – the Hug bag by Ferragamo.
This stunning bag was revealed during the brand’s Fall/Winter 2023 runway show, and it has drastically become the talk of the town.
Designed by the talented Maximilian Davis, this bag is a true testament to Ferragamo’s legacy of craftsmanship and creativity. Fusing a blend of combined heritage and modernity, the Hug bag exudes sophistication with a timeless element for everyday ease. Just like its name, the design was simple. The shape takes inspiration from the representation of a hug, making it seamless for fashion enthusiasts to don the accessory for a day-to-night affair.
Renowned Italian artist Paolo Ventura has also added his unique touch to the campaign by painting images on it for a vibrant element. Here, you’ll find that the visuals are a tribute to the craftsmanship as skilled artisans cut, sew, finish and assemble every single piece of the Hug bag.
Rendered in soft and hard textures, including brushed calfskin, patent leather, and nubuck, the Hug bag features an asymmetrical silhouette with folding side panels that extend to the front, decorated with Gancini closures.
In terms of craftsmanship, the bag’s apparent simplicity requires countless hours of work to combine its elements to perfection. For instance, the top-handle style takes nearly five hours to construct with 18 pieces, while the clutch takes 27 pieces. On the other hand, its hand-lacquered edges include 9 to 16 metal elements.
The Hug bag comes in three iterations, including a pouch and a tote bag in medium and small sizes. They have concealable tubular handles, protective metal feet, and a removable shoulder strap. The bags are available in classic tones and vibrant hues, such as black, midnight blue, yellow, optic white, and Ferragamo red, with gold or palladium-finished hardware.
Designated for any fashion-forward individual, the Hug bag is a true sentiment of excellence, which is why we can’t get enough of it this season.
The Hug Bag is now available at any Ferragamo boutique, on ferragamo.com, or at selected e-tailers and retailers worldwide.
