This Spring, designers went on a whirlwind trip to Spain. Ruffled hemlines and red hot chillies were the words du jour on the runways, as seen at Blugirl, Alexander McQueen and Michael Kors. But no one did it better than Peter Copping at Oscar de la Renta, who debuted his finest collection to date. Deep red carnations dominated the runway, as did swirls of ruffles and delicate ribbons — a nod to the late Dominican designer’s encounter with actress Ava Gardner. How’s that for spicing things up?
