The rising screen queen reflects on her career, tells us her favourite things to do to unwind, shares her upcoming projects and more.

Best known for her lead roles in Thai TV dramas including Hormones: The Series and Senior Secret Love: My Lil Boy, Thanaerng (whose full name is Kanyawee Songmuang) is a rising screen queen with a decade-long career in the industry (she debuted at a young age of 16 when she won the Miss Teen Thailand pageant in 2012).
Between filming, events, shoot schedules, and school—she nearly studied fashion but opted for a Politics, Philosophy and Economics degree to gain “a good understanding of the world”—our November 2023 digital cover star is balancing beauty, brains and a successful career with a persevering spirit, self-discipline and willingness to try it all. Last year, the star released a song titled “Good Times” with one of Thailand’s most celebrated young male artists, Bright Vachirawit, and is currently working on new music.

In a series of images shot in Paris this past October, Thanaerng effortlessly channels holiday whimsy in pieces from the LOEWE SS24 pre-collection, which includes a festive capsule in collaboration with Kyoto-based ceramic studio Suna Fujita.
With the year coming to a close, the Thai actress, model and singer reflects on her career, tells us her favourite things to do to unwind, shares her upcoming projects and more.

How would you describe your style?
I don’t really have a particular style. I decide what to wear depending on my mood each day.
What are your wardrobe essentials?
Bags and shoes.

Did you always want to be an actress?
I wasn’t sure but I knew I wanted to work in creative arts and wanted to be successful. I can’t imagine doing any other job!
What inspires you? Do you have any role models?
My mum. She is and will always be my role model.

What are some lessons you’ve learnt in your decade-long career?
Responsibility, punctuality and maturity.
What is your ultimate career goal?
I try not to think too much about the future. I just try to do my best each day.

What are your favourite things to do to unwind?
Stay home, chill, and play with my cats!
Are there any upcoming projects you can share with our readers?
I’m working on new music that will be released in the beginning of 2024 and also a movie.
