After surprising fans yesterday with her first public appearance since taking six weeks off, the Duchess of Sussex was spotted leaving the National Theatre this afternoon looking impossibly chic in a workwear-ready ensemble with her navy coat draped over her shoulders, one of her favourite styling tricks.

Meghan was seen leaving the theatre, of which she is patron, in Central London wearing a blue-and-white striped shirt, high-waisted tailored trousers and a navy Massimo Dutti coat, which is still available to buy. The actress styled the coat in a shrobing fashion over her shoulders, a trick that instantly makes your outfit looks chic and pulled-together – and is something she has mastered time and time again.

For one of her final public engagements of 2019, for the WellChild Awards in October, Meghan wore her Sentaler camel coat draped over shoulders, showing off her green Parosh dress underneath.

The duchess also mastered shrobing during the spring of 2018, when she draped a black blazer over her Altuzarra dress, giving her look a polished feel – and was spotted styling her leather jacket in this way during one of her first public outings with Prince Harry.

If you are looking to make your wardrobe work harder for 2020 and don’t want to invest in anything new, then we suggest you adopt Meghan’s favourite styling trick and start draping your outerwear over your shoulders now.
