1. 1980s fashion

The 80s made a comeback this year, led by Marc Jacobs, Saint Laurent and Isabel Marant. Big shoulders, bold colours, mini-length and bold silhouettes came thick and fast on the catwalk, and, as reviled as this decade might be in the style stakes, Google users round the world were still curious to see how a modern 80s incarnation might look.
