Don’t forget a coat

Consider what you’re wearing over your dress – you don’t want to be the guest shivering outside while the photos are taking place. In winter, opt for a dress coat in cheering shade or faux fur. Don’t ruin a great outfit with everyday, dreary outerwear. In the warmer months, consider a smart leather jacket (bashed-up versions are a no-go) or one of this season’s dress robes – essentially a hybrid between a dressing gown and a kimono – that have an understated luxe appeal.
