You Will Love Longchamp’s Iconic Leather, Le Foulonné

The signature leather, Le Foulonné, makes a comeback!

If there’s one thing we simply adore to bits at BAZAAR, it’s classic pieces that never go out of style. From iconic bags to seasonless wardrobe staples, these undeniably reliable and trend-proof items will be your trusted companion for years to come.  Echoing this ethos, Longchamp, revisits one of its signature leathers, Le Foulonné, to celebrate its enduring leather goods legacy.

Introduced in 1978, Le Foulonné borrows its name from the French word “drummed”, a technique where leather is passed through a rotating drum after tanning. Through this technique, the leather’s softness is amplified and its natural grain is revealed, resulting in a leather that is not only supple to the touch but also extremely durable—fashionable qualities that are enhanced as the leather ages.

The timeless leather is first seen at Longchamp’s Autumn/Winter ’21 presentation, reimagined in new essential shapes that are suited to the modern woman. Amongst its list of offerings include the slim cross-body bag that features an adjustable shoulder strap and a feminine flap bag that can be worn on the shoulder or styled across the body. Featuring clean lines and pale gold hardware, the latest bags provide a refreshing minimalist silhouette that enriches the beauty of the grained leather.

In keeping with the leather’s timeless appeal, the bags are available in classic shades of black, red and caramel. Refreshing colours of bright yellow Mimosa, blush Pink and soft grey Turtledove also complement Le Foulonné, perfect for the young and contemporary. Authentic and everlasting, the distinctive charm of Le Foulonné is undeniably attractive.
