Christinna Kuan launches rR rafflesia

A new chapter in Malaysian luxury: rR rafflesia makes its debut

Pearl specialist Rafflesia have ventured into uncharted territory, collaborating with Christinna Kuan to launch rR rafflesia, presenting a thoughtful evolution rather than a complete departure from their three-decade legacy.

A Meeting of Minds

The collaboration between Roland Sin, Rafflesia's director, and fashion icon Christinna Kuan (Mskuan) began at an anniversary celebration. However, their shared vision quickly transformed into something more substantial. Together, they identified a gap in the market for fine jewellery that speaks to contemporary lifestyles.

"We want to expand the way people experience jewellery," explains Sin. Indeed, rR rafflesia positions itself as more than an accessories brand. Instead, it embraces fashion, travel, dining, and wellness as integral elements of modern luxury.

The Beauty of Pearl Collection

The debut series introduces two designs: Nove and Oro. Both pieces highlight white and golden pearls through Mskuan's contemporary lens. Meanwhile, Sin's pearl expertise ensures each piece maintains Rafflesia's renowned craftsmanship standards.

Above all else, the collection emphasises versatility. Consequently, these pieces transition seamlessly from boardroom to brunch. Furthermore, each design carries symbolic meaning, representing love, prosperity, and luck. “This collection is very personal to me," says Mskuan. "Pearls are timeless, but I wanted to show how they can be styled effortlessly for modern, everyday looks.”

A Fresh Visual Identity

Notably, rR rafflesia adopts pastel yellow as its signature colour. This choice marks a deliberate shift from Rafflesia's established aesthetic. The warm hue reflects the brand's youthful energy while maintaining sophistication.

Mskuan's personal connection to the collection shines through her styling philosophy. "Pearls are timeless, but I wanted to show how they can be styled effortlessly," she notes.
