Diamonds, sapphires, and rubies ruled the red carpet.
This year’s Oscars ceremony was anything but normal. Instead of taking place in late February unlike in previous years, the show was postponed by two months in light of the coronavirus pandemic. It was held on a much smaller scale and was broken down to two locations across Los Angeles – the Hollywood Dolby Theatre and Union Station, where attendees had to take COVID-19 tests before confirming attendance.
While the event was much more low-key, celebrities still came to serve their very best looks and even went above and beyond when it came to their Oscars 2021 accessories. Read on to see the many ways these A-listers sparkled this year.
Reese Witherspoon

Dressed in a deep red halter-neck Christian Dior gown, award-winning actress Reese Witherspoon complemented her ensemble with BVLGARI high jewelry, which combined a colourful mix of rubies (11.74 carats), diamonds (25.2 carats), onyx, and pearls, valued at over $3 million. Having been inspired by the late singer Prince, H.E.R wore a glittering custom Dundas jumpsuit, complete with a headscarf. The winner for Best Original Song for Fight for You from Judas and the Black Messiah, dazzled even further with a Chopard diamond ring from the Haute Joaillerie Collection featuring a 3.93-carat round shaped sapphire, 13.99 carats of diamonds and 6.91 carats of blue sapphires set in 18k white gold. She also sported another ring, featuring a 12.649-carat cushion-shaped purple spinel from the same collection.

The 24-year-old stunner undoubtedly stole the show in her bright yellow Valentino gown but what made her look even more breathtaking was the set of Oscars 2021 accessories she donned around her neck. Best known for her role as Queen Elizabeth II in Netflix’s The Crown, actress Olivia Colman sparkled like royalty in Chopard earrings featuring 6.52 carats of pear-shaped diamonds and 1.24 carats of brilliant-cut diamonds set in 18k white gold. On her hand, she sported a magnificent ring in ethical 18k white gold set with 1.32 carats of pear-shaped and brilliant-cut diamonds, both from the Precious Lace Collection.
