IWC Schaffhausen continues its tradition of honouring the Lunar New Year, but switches the Portugiser models of the past two years for the Portofino instead. The Portofino Automatic Moon Phase to be exact. Much like years past, the Year of the Snake watch features a rich burgundy dial, housed within a stainless steel case. This Portofino measures 37 mm and holds at 12 o’clock a moon phase display. Extremely precise, this moon phase only deviates from the actual orbit of Earth’s satellite by one day after 122 years.
The seductive reptile appears on the back, forming the gold-plated oscillating weight. The movement is an IWC-manufactured 32800 calibre (with a power reserve of five days). Additionally, this refined watch also comes with two calfskin straps—one in black, the other burgundy. Both are fitted with an easy quick-change system to allow you to switch styles effortlessly.
