Highlighting the mastery of engraving and miniature enamelling of its Métiers d’Art series, Vacheron Constantin depicts a cobra perched on a rock on its Year of the Snake watch. Just to expertly carve the snake and rock from pink or white gold takes up three days of artistic work. Afterwards, miniature paint and patina are then applied to accentuate texture. A master enameller then paints the scene, using gradient Grand Feu enamel for the dial background. This is followed by an ancestral Geneva technique, flux- coated miniature opaque enamel, for the flora.
This limited edition 40 mm watch comes in two version. The first, a pink gold case with ochre snake and brown alligator strap. And the second, a platinum case with anthracite grey snake and blue alligator strap. Additionally, the hours, minutes, day and date indicators on each dial reflect the colours of their respective watch models.
