Like most major events this year, British music’s biggest night was postponed from February to 11 May 2021. Taking place at the O2 Arena to a live audience of 4,000 – with half of them being essential workers – the 2021 BRIT awards is one of the first large-scale affairs to be held in London in the past 14 months. For the fourth consecutive year, comedian Jack Whitehall returns as host.
The night marked a promising dawn for live music with many remarkable performances taking place – Coldplay opened the ceremony on a floating stage on the Thames River while Dua Lipa was transported from Charing Cross tube station to a neon-lit stage whilst performing a medley of her Future Nostalgia album. Other performers include Olivia Rodrigo, Headie One, and Arlo Parks, who all delivered spectacularly.
