From January 19th to 21st, St. Regis Kuala Lumpur welcomes its first guest chef of the year, two-Michelin chef Pere Planaguma from Spain to The Brasserie for an exciting two-night only kitchen takeover. With credentials that include working under legendary names like Ferran Adria of El Bulli and the Roca brothers of El Celler de Can Roca, Chef Pere is set to bring diners beyond their wildest imaginations. His famed specialty is his ability to take inspiration from the elements of the landscape that surrounds him, turning basic ingredients into a dish that is worthy of being called a signature, such as his white beans from Santa Pau, frozen cottage cheese with basil and anchovies, and salted cod brandade with muscat grapes. For this gastronomic affair, one can expect Chef Pere to make an impression by bringing the hotel’s famous artworks that include Mark Evans’s Grace Thunders, Fernando Botero’s Horse and Barnaby Hoskings’s Birds and Butterflies to life on a plate.
